Demystifying celibacy.

The sexual nature of the human race derived from the animal, whose survival instinct leads him to reproduction and finding in this the evolution, seems to be opposed to celibacy, a somewhat distorted and misunderstood sexual practice.

It seems apropos the interpretation of Genesis that some do, and of the many writings considered sacred and base of different "religious" dogmas, where sexuality or sexual act is considered to impure, sinful and contrary to the sacred.

This, clearly, is neither a healthy nor proper interpretation. Because if there is a God who create sexed creatures and laying the golden rule of do not copulate, but with "freedom" to choose (will), surely God would be a morbid and somewhat sick.

However, the practice of celibacy is a sexual practice but something different from the known, it has not to do with pleasure and / or reproduction but with transcendence.

This practice is not known among animals, because a natural reason, they are not as evolved and do not have a conscience as human beings. It is this consciousness which moves some to want to transcend the animal experiencing so, that possibility.

You can not embark on the challenge of becoming celibate from a moral view, believing that this will make you more holy or elevated than others who do not even care about do it, which is totally valid.

Those who obtained the knowledge that there is this possibility, not only exercise conscious control over sexual desire, but at the same time this brings an unusual energy charge (non "discharged"), sensation of power and confidence themselves, which gives the person a different tone of life, a different feel and the satisfaction of having transcended without repressions, the very nature of the world.

Those who have managed to observe in themselves how sexual desire is manifested, its cycles, causing images in their minds and do nothing about, just the simple observation, become aware that they are something more than just a biological machine and they can respond to something higher than the mere reproductive instinct.

It is said that Mahatma Gandhi would have had complications with this practice, since it was heavily influenced by their beliefs and saw sexual desire as a temptation, which would have led to opt for a somewhat questionable method, and it was that he had to face the alleged temptation sleeping with naked young women. And beyond that his intention was not that of a pervert, using girls to experience for yourself and "consecrate" their own achievements at the expense of others, which perhaps should not have to go through these practices to satisfy It is not something admirable.

Not to be confused celibacy with asexuality, the latter has more to do with a psychological pathology than with transcendence. It is characteristic of people who have problems like not to accept your own body or nakedness or fear to relate intimately with others, etc.. Overall, asexuality is closely linked to fear or apathy, and has nothing to do with the voluntary celibacy, the latter comes to fruition when the person has already recognized in the sexual act the beauty of nature and the incredible opportunity to share with another person a liberating moment as integrator.

The union of two people in the sexual act is which must be considered sacred and should be praised in temples, not to virgins who have children coming directly from the sky, without scale in any male .

Despite some, life in this world is expressed through sex and this is why they should be held high and celibacy should be used only when it came to the acceptance of sex, the body and the mind. Because by accepting it can transcend, never fighting or condemning.
